Some failed photos - Another question
Thank you very much for the suggestions on how to make my basketball photos work, I definitly played around with some of that stuff (espeicially the ISO made a huge difference) and got way better photos the second time. I still really want to get this down and plan on going back again next week to try again. A lot of my photos still turned out blurry, and the few times I used a flash they didn’t so much blur.
So my question is; Having never taken basketball photos, I was pretty hesitant to use a flash becuase I didn’t know if it would be distracting? I took almost all of them from behind the backboard and was thinking that the flash would go directly in the player’s eyes. Is there a way around that? Or does it not matter?
I really don’t think players notice the flash. I shoot basketball a lot and I’ve never heard a player say anything about it. It depends on your preference, but I sit a little to one side of the basket, not right behind it - that way you aren’t distracting when they shoot free throws. You did do a good job at capturing the action, especially on a first attempt. (lydia)
