face in the floor this is my news photo that i handed in for class. i enhanced the saturation, burned it and applied some sort of burning filter. kind of like this version better. shutter speed:1/200, f/9, ISO:100, focal length 34mm, flash fired
I like how you brought out the color of the chalk, and made it more vivid. I also like the way her shadow falls across the drawing - its a really nice shot. (lydia)

Brock Tackitt was completely uninterested in his brother’s baseball game, so he hung out by the trash can and played his game.

This isn’t the best shot - but I like the fact that Ian runs so fast, his feet don’t touch the ground.

It was a terribly cold, rainy day Saturday - not too fun to be out watching baseball.  But I did get a decent shot of Colton.  Maybe some day it will warm up.

****Week 13 Photo Kyle
An old rusted sign by the train tracks.
My roomate had his solo art show this weekend in the gallery in the square, and one of our friends bands played in the window to go along with it as some kinda weird “art peice.” There’s 5 guys in that band in a really tiny space, and I think it would have made some really cool pictures. Unfortunately, I got crazily sick and couldn’t make it, and was kinda bummed out about that. Anyway, here’s a photo of an old sign instead.
That’s a sad story - i hope you feel better.  I like this shot; its a good angle and i like the shadow on the building.  but you probly should have rotated it just a bit - the wall is a bit tilted.  (lydia)

Here’s a tennis photo.  I don’t know the kid’s name, but I do know that he and his partner won the #1 doubles competition at the Flora Tournament.

Clay City Lady Wolves senior Brooke Hohlbauch prepares to steal home on the pitch during the team’s game vs. Grayville.  Clay City softball is not my favorite thing to shoot, but I was very glad to see a sunny day.

very nice.  i like the blur of the train and the person waiting to board - but i’d lighten up the entire photo, its a bit dark. (lydia)

Quarterback Luke Hockaday passes the ball to junior running back Norris Smith during the third practice of the spring at O’Brien Stadium.
Shutter Speed: 1/500 sec.
F-Stop: f/6.3
ISO: 400
Focal Length: 200.0 m
I had such a hard time shooting football today. They are switching offenses to the spread and I have no idea where the ball is going half the time. So, I’m going to shoot practice all this week in preperation for their Spring game in April. I will probably post more art from practices through out this week.

This is a nice action shot, but I wouldn’t crop it quite so tight - he needs room to run. (lydia)

Senior Obe Eruteya competes in the men’s triple jump Saturday at O’Brien Stadium. Eruteya jumped 48’00.50” and placed second in the event.
I like his expression, but the background is a bit cluttered and I’d like to see the instant before this one - when he was still in his jump; but that’s just me.  (lydia)
Shutter Speed: 1/640 sec.

he may look like a dog, but he’s actually a scaredy-cat.  which is why i like this photo; he looks suspicious and frightened as usual. ***week 12
shutter speed:1/200, f/7, ISO:400, focal length 55mm, flash fired
This is a nice portrait.  I like the soft light on the right, but might have burnt the left side a little more.  I also like the sharp focus on his eyes.  very cute.  (lydia)

North Clay Cardinals first base coach Johnny Zink talks to his son, short stop John Logan Zink, during a pitching change of North Clay’s game vs. Noble.  I liked the father-son moment in the photo, and it has emotion, just like Brian asked for.

music in the city
this is my friends band. they asked me to take shots for their website (which i had no idea what to do, but it went smoothly). so this is just one. i will probably post some more but i plan on filtering and making them kind of funky.
shutter speed:1/200, f/9,  ISO:100, focal length:24mm, no flash fired

I like the angle you chose - makes them sort of larger than life. and the background is pretty clean; its a nice shot.

A photo I took awhile back of a guy I work with at the Union named Bob. He thought it was funny that anyone would want to see a photo of “some old janitor”—-his words.

I really like this shot. It’s a “real” person going through his everyday routine. I like the lighting - maybe would have burnt it a little more - and the background that shows his environment. (lydia)
